Question

Adobe fonts do not load unless adobe creative clooud is open

Already installed adobe fonts are missing/do not show in Premiere Pro whenever I start up my computer without Creative cloud desktop running in the background. the font is installed in the adobe fonts, but it does not load in Premiere Pro and defaults to the first font I have at the top of the fonts list. Only way to fix this is to close premiere pro, run creative cloud desktop and then reopen premiere pro.

This bug is very annoying and is slowing me down for no good reason.

PC specs: Windows 11 running on
cpu: AMD R9 7900X
gpu: RTX 4080

Maybe as a test change the asset download location, or add a folder layer and see if that updates.  You may have already tried several of these, but while we look into this you can also check out Troubleshooting guide: Adding fonts.  It has some good suggestions.

Hi there, I have Adobe Fonts enabled but I don't see the downloaded fonts in the Downloads folder.

Thanks for that extra information and for providing a specific font you're having issues with. That's helpful. Can you also confirm that you have Adobe Fonts Enabled in CC?  And can you confirm that the fonts exist in whatever your download file path may be?

I hope we can help you shortly.

Hi there, I am using Premiere Pro ver 25.1.0 (Build 73)

If I close CC with premiere pro, the fonts remain. When I restart Premiere it also remains. The way to recreate this bug 100% is by restarting my computer and opening Premiere without starting CC at all.

And yes this has happened with every single adobe font that I had to install (that were not already included by default).
I am not sure about font group as I didn't pay attention to that, but this has been bugging me for months for various fonts that I have installed.

Also it's not entirely consistent where, for example for the case of the font Sofia Pro, within a font family there are different types like italic, bold, medium etc and sometimes all would disappear except for, maybe say, italic and semi bold. Other times the entire thing disappears.

Hi @butterisbetter,

Thanks for submitting your bug report.   What version of Premiere are you in?  If you close CC with Premiere open, do your fonts remain until you restart Premiere, or do they disappear immediately?  Is this happening with a specific Adobe font, a font group or all of them?  We need a few more details to try to help with the issue. Please see: How do I write a bug report?  Sorry for the frustration, and thanks for reaching out.

It probably won't affect your font issue, but you should be using the Studio driver, not the Game driver for Premiere Pro.
