Adobe Premiere Not Showing Entire Audio Clip?

Hello, I need help with this please. My adobe premiere seems to not recognize an audio clip fully. For example, I will have a 3 minute background music audio file (.mp3) and when I double click on the file itself in AP, the file will only be around 1 minute and 30 seconds. Why is this? I go back to play the audio file in Windows media player (for example), and everything is working fine (back to 3 minutes). Here is a screenshot of the problem. Does anyone know what may be going on? The audio that DOES appear is also very glitchy. Thanks a lot!

Try converting to a .wav file using Audition.
