Adobe Premiere Pro - I cannot edit text

Hi everyone

I can no longer seem to edit any text in the project i am working on or any other project, i used to be able to double click on the text and it would highlight in red and i could edit, this no longer works and i cannot change any of the text i have, Can you help?

Is your text made in the legacy text tool or the new text tool?

The new text tool requires you to pick the T icon form the toolbar and then you can double click on teh text to edit.

Double clicking on the text changes the selection tool into the text tool.
