Alpha Channel / Reveal in Project Bugs in Oct 2018 Premiere Pro CC Update

Two things so far I have noticed after upgrading to the new version of Premiere...

1.  "Reveal in Project" selection from timeline has no effect, it doesn't select the source file to be highlighted in the project bin.  Is this a setting I'm missing?

2.  Pro Res 4444 with Alpha channels does not render the transparency on H.264 or Pro Res renders, though in Premiere in the Program window preview, transparency works fine.  This was working 100% fine in previous update.  I'm not sure if it's a rendering bug, but would love to find out more.  I've tried adjusting alpha settings in interpret footage, different bit depth exports etc.  all to no avail.

FYI, the Alpha channel issue should be addressed in the 13.0.1 update that was just posted. Notable fixes in 13.0.1: https://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-pro/kb/fixed-issues.html

Hi heatherm,

Sorry for your issue.

"Reveal in Project" selection from timeline has no effect, it doesn't select the source file to be highlighted in the project bin.  Is this a setting I'm missing?

Thank you for reporting this. We'll need more information to troubleshoot the issue:

Does it happen on a new project or a new sequence?

Have you tried resetting preferences? FAQ: How to reset (trash) preferences in Premiere Pro?

Pro Res 4444 with Alpha channels does not render the transparency on H.264 or Pro Res renders, though in Premiere in the Program window preview, transparency works fine

We're investigating this issue. You may try this workaround.

There's an acknowledged bug on ProRes 4444 w/alpha, discussed by engineer Trent Happel in this thread ...

2019 version doesn't render clips with alpha channels as transparent

It's the "correct" answer, so it's at the top ... and he discusses a workaround.
