Audio and Video Out of Sync after import

Hi! I am a teacher and recorded a school assembly yesterday. When I import the footage into Premiere and lay it on the timeline, the audio is out of sync. I thought maybe it was a conforming issue, but I created a new project, re-imported the footage, and had the same result. FYI: The video is standard 1080p 29.97fps with an AVCHD codec. I've used this same setup to record many times before and never had a problem. Any ideas?

I am having exactly the same problem!  I teach Audio Video Production, and we have used the same Panasonic cameras for several years.  We edit on iMacs, and I have 16 in my classroom.  This year we upgraded to the newest iMacs and Premiere Pro 24.5, and my students keep running into this issue.  They have recorded correctly and imported correctly, but the audio is 23 frames ahead of the video.  I really need to figure this out and get it working correctly!

I assume you filmed with an iphone? resulting in variable frame rate. Encode using handbrake then import.
Otherwise Please provide detailed specs of your system, including your storage configuration as well as your OS and version of Premiere Can you please provide us with the original footage file info, sequence settings and export settings?

No. it was filmed with a pair of Nat Pan 800 cameras. But, I did pick up comments about variable frame rates and identified that it did indeed have that.
The system has a Ryzen 9 7600X processor, 32 Gb Ram, B650 Motherboard and a Geforce GTX 1650 GPU.. Storage is on a 3Tb hard drive in a designated video storage area. Separate drive from the 'c' system. Running Windows 11 and Premier Pro 24, Version 24.6.1.

I was previously running Premier Pro 2023 on my old machine (AMD FX with Win 10) using the same graphics card and 3Tb drive with absolutely no problems at all.
I was a bit shocked when I put together a short 2 camera piece and when I cam to edit it found that the audio was about 2 seconds ahead of the video, on both cameras. The sync was perfect between the cameras - exactly the same spacing out!
I've downloaded handbrake and am about to see if that has done anything.

Fumnnily enough, I've just found exactly the same issue. I've just built a new computer and downloaded the newest version and on importing video the audio is wildly out of synch. This isn't a problem I've ever encountered on my old machine running the 2023 version!!
Incredible that a nice, new, fast machine running the newest version can't import the video in a usable fashion whereas the old one could! Any ideas out there?? The vieo source disk is exactly the same as I've transfered the drive over to the new machine.
