Audio tracks blowing out across multiple projects

Christopher, you're testing screenshot looks like my waveforms (pushed through the roof out of the blue) - it's an issue with .MTS files. An adobe staff member has identified it as such in this post:

Apparently rolling back to v 25.2 is the solution which I'm trying now.

From the waveform, that file is clipping, as it was perhaps recorded too high. What is the sound like elsewhere from the same clip?

Hi, I have exactly the same problem in Premiere. I have tried:

- updating the app
- reconnecting the problem footage to a different instance of it on a different drive
- Resetting preferences and clearing cache

- Transcoding the offending footage to an entirely new codec, and relinking the problem footage to the new transcoded material. (this took the offending footage from an .mts to a pro res QT), audio still distorting horrendously

This issue only effects one type of footage in my timeline, the audio from this footage plays exactly as you'd expect it to in VLC, Adobe After effects.

This project was running fine for about 4 months, and problems have only begun today (although it's a 4 month long project it's not especially chunky)

Note my source footage and timeline is all at 48khz
