Automatically adding music from a folder??

Hello all,

Is there a way through either plug ins or macros of some sort for Premiere Pro to add music from a folder full of audio files to the timeline.

My use case is that I record my kids soccer games. I add the video clips to the timeline and then add music pseudo randomly from a folder of MP3s I've accumulated. I try to mix up the songs and the order before uploading to Youtube. I was hoping there was a way to do this automatically.  For premiere to select a random assortment of MP3s that at the least covers the 1-1.5 hours of video.

Customizing by clipping the last song and adding a fade to the end would be a bonus but not a requirement.

Its not hard to select 20 or so of the files and add them but sometimes if I grab too little I might accidentaly add a song twice and as I said the order become somewhat predicatable when you ctrl click the files.

Any help would be appreciated, even a "nope that is impossible."  Thank you!

Hi Matthew,

this is a perfect job for my extension Automation Blocks for Premiere Pro.

I just created a tool for you which does the following in one click:

- populate the active sequence with music from that folder

- trim the last song as needed to fit to the length of the sequence
