Hello . I understand that Premiere Pro works all the time in avid segment mode fashion, BUT... Is it somehow possible to move playhead anywhere in the timeline where I left click it (some modificator maybe...)? It's far more convenient to work this way. It's harder to click playhead then drag it. If you got V1 edited but few more video tracks are empty why I wouldnt click somewhere there and move playhead? I understand, that i can drag upper bar, but i think avid way is better. It's more painfull with my laptop, when real estate is limited and im not using mouse.
I don't understand why duration display works like that. When I set my mark in it automaticaly "sets" the mark out on the last frame of the clip in the source monitor, so I see duration from mark in to last frame. I think that it should show duration between mark in and actual position of the playhead. Look. Mostly first and last few sec are useless so it shows...nothing usable. First you look for the best in point and then you are scrubbing playhead searching for the best mark out point (or opposite). And it would be better to see duration of your choices without marking it in AND out while scrubbing. Setting and clearing in/out marks is a waste of time. It would be better to update autmaticaly when you move playhead from the mark in/out.... I think.
It would be nice to see some information about the clip in the timeline. In Avid you can choose many things like duration, clip resolution and so on. I know, that ther is something like info panel BUT... info panel is less important than for example project panel or effect panel and toggling between them to search for information about duration is...yup, waste of time. And you must also select that clip! Another milisec wasted. When I edit with someone I'm often asked: "How long is A speaking?" "How long is B speaking?" "How long... bla bla..." While Im on Avid i may answer immidiately. While on Premier Pro I must open Info panel, click on clip, then another...and then toggle Info panel to something more important (proj/FX)...

I'll take a stab at two of these!
1) Click on the timeline timecode at the top of the timeline panel, and that will move the current time indicator to where you click. (IE: don't click on a clip)
3) If you hover your mouse over a clip in the timeline, the tool tip text appears with start time, end time and duration.

Click the timeline ruler for instant navigation of the playhead.
I think the current Duration operation makes more sense. Many editors will use the playhead to place the In point, so it makes no sense to show a Duration in the way you suggest.
You can separate the Info panel to keep it showing at all times. If you hover the mouse over a clip, you will also get a popup in the timeline with basic specs, including Duration.
