Best format and codec to record timelapses with OBS

Hello!

Currently I am using probably the worst codec and format for editing, MP4 and Nvidia H.264 codec in OBS.

It was predictable and easy as long as I am using it only for normal recording, but when I want to record 2-3 hours of material and speed it up in Premiere for timelapse, it definetly makes the footage impossible to edit.

Which format and codec would be the best for this type of timelapse recording? to make the editing easier and smoother even with speed up footage in premiere?

It's not really clear what you're trying to accomplish, what kind of timelapse and why it's "impossible to edit". If you mean file size, the most effective encoding mode for screencapture is CQ/CRF (so called "constant quality ")
