black screen problem

I can't see the preview of the video, there is sound but no image, when I press the video expansion button on the top right, the video appears, but when I press ESC and go back to the project I was working on, it stays in a black or white screen and the video freezes. How can I fix this?

    We need much more info. Does the video play outside of Premiere? What format is the video? System specs.
