BUG: Workspace reset on new project in PPro CC 2019 (13.0)

Contributor ,
Oct 17, 2018 Oct 17, 2018

As with every major release, I installed PPro CC 2019 (13.0) using the following steps:

1. Remove PPro CC 2018.1 (12.1.1)

2. Remove  settings & layouts by deleting folder "C:\Users\{MyUser}\Documents\Adobe\Premiere\12"

3. Remove Cache Files (Both from scratch disk and %APPDATA%\Adobe\Common)

4. Also remove third party plugins, Blackmagic drivers, NDI tools

5. Update Nvidia drivers

6. Install PPro CC 2019 (13.0)

7. Install latest versions of plugins, blackmagic drivers

8. Restart computer and start PPro with Alt-Shift to purge plugin cache data.

9. Adjust all settings and make my layouts, making sure I have the "import workspace from projects" is disabled.

After I start a new project, My workspace is completely messed up, it literally takes me 2-3 minutes to fix everything up which is extremely annoying.

More specific:

1. The project panel opens up in completely different location docked with the first panel available which creates a huge mess with the rest panels.

2. My bin's preferred metadata, grid, sort and list options (thumbnails) reset to default (similar to how v12.0+ behave)

3. Several panels reset their width and dock order as a result of 1.

4. If I hit "reset to saved layout" option, I still don't get my saved layout.

5. Some times if I open a saved project, the workspace resets as well.

Please note that I have tried to completely delete the Layouts folder and re-create them at least 3 times, without results.

Any thoughts on that?

Can anyone with custom layouts confirm it please?

This need to be fixed ASAP. I've already reported it on UserVoice.

There is a know bug with the workspaces. Adobe is working on them.

This is officially a bug. It's broken. I tried to clean install it twice.

I figured out it only happens if you have the project panel window on it's own panel, without other windows. That's why It doesn't effect everyone.

Also in previous versions you could reset to saved layout and recover your bin's setup (see above) but it doesn't work anymore.

Bin's setup should be included on the workspace settings or at least provide an option in preferences.

Same here (Win 10 Pro, latest update). And if I load my saved one, it resets wrong. Project panel is on the wrong side of the screen.

Hi wolfkain,

Sorry to hear that you are facing this issue. Please confirm if you are using multiple monitors. If so, please test Premiere Pro with only the native monitor and check if you are still experiencing this issue with the workspace.

Regards,

Sumeet

Just FYI, I also tried to uninstall the software, download and install again (just in case).

Guess what? Same workspace reset problems.

Any solution out there from Adobe?
