C++ Runtime error on launch

I update to Premiere 22.1.2 and upon launch i get a Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library error. This also happens when starting Media Encoder. It does not happen with Photoshop or Lightroom. This didn't happen before the update. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling  Premiere and Media Encoder, but the error still occurs. I did not try to downgrade to older version yet.

See attached screenshot of the error.

Any advice?

Reinstalling C++ runtime didn't help, I tried both x86 and x64 versions.

I did try a Premiere downgrade to 22.0 and that solved the problem. I then upgraded Premiere back to 22.1.2 and the problem reappeared. So will have to stick with 22.0 for the moment.

Having the same issue. Downgraded to 22.0 and running without issues for now.

Well I was not. Have never run Premier as Administrator and I've been using it since CS1

But that indeed worked for me in this case! Thanks Jeff. Is that a new requirement?

Not a requirement, but it often fixes strange issues like this.

And if your network/Internet security is sound, I can't think of a reason to *not* run it as an admin. 😀

Thanks again Jeff. Runing as Admin is fine for home and small business users. However, mid-to-large businesses never give local admin rights to users to prevent them from accidentally/unknowingly installing malware or other unwanted software. So it's a best-practice for software manufacturers never to require it for day-to-day operations.

Just tried selecting "Run as Administrator", but the problem is still there. Also the user account under which I'm running has administrative privileges.
