Can drag source clip but not subclips from source to timeline

New Here ,

I don't know what's happening but I can't drag any subclips to the timeline after doing an auto sequence of clips to the timeline to unnamed markers, which worked fine. I can drag the main clip to the timeline but not the subclips, which doesn't make sense as both videos would have the same settings.

I have tried holding down options and resetting cache and preferences with no luck. What else can I try?

You need to enable your source patching to drag subclips from the Project panel to the timeline.

Here's a summary of the process:

Source Patching allows you to specify which tracks a clip’s video and audio go to when editing a clip into a sequence. To enable source patching:

1. In the Timeline panel, look for the source patching buttons on the left side of the tracks.
2. Enable the V1 (video) and A1 (audio) buttons for the tracks you want to patch the source to. The buttons should be blue when enabled.

For more details, you can refer to this guide: Source Patching and Track Targeting in Premiere Pro.

Cheers,
Paul
