Can't consolidate clips/delete duplicates while importing XML files

Hello. I am trying to import an XML file to my Premiere project. The XML is a sequence which already contains clips that are previously imported in my Premiere project. As you surely know, sometimes it creates duplicates of audio or video files (I don't know why it creates randomly audio or video duplicates). Sometimes, it creates no duplicates at all but just the sequence needed. Anyway, when I'm trying to Consolidate Duplicates, it's not working at all. It works perfectly with internal clips but as soon as you're working with XML importations, it seems it's impossible to delete duplicate clips. Does anyone have any tips on this? Many thanks.

Hi!

I believe I've found the solution!!! Let me know if this works for you!

1) Go into your project, click in an empty spot in your project panel.

2) Go to File > Export > Final Cut Pro XML

3) Open up a blank project and import the new XML!

This should bring in all your timelines as well as just ONE instance of all the media!!!

I just had the same problem in 23.6, and this workaround worked.
