Can't drag & drop Compositions from AE to Premiere after updates Adobe Premeire 22.1.2

As of today, I have all the latest versions of the Apple OS (Monteray 12.0.1) and Adobe Premeire (22.1.2 Build 1) and After Effects (22.1.1) and now I can't drag and drop a dynamically linked AE sequence into Premiere. I can go to File/Import in Premiere and those dynamic links do works, but it saved A LOT of time to drag and drop. Sometimes I a partial message pops up (see image attachment). I've deleted the media cache, the dynamic link folder and disabled multi-frame rendering. So far nothing has worked. Any Ideas?

If you have a Logitech mouse and the Logitech G-Hub app is installed, then this problem occurs. You need to close G-Hub from the tray

Also having the same issue in 2024, but weirdly, it doesn't happen with every project!! Using the same versions of Premiere Pro and After Effects (24.6.1 and 24.6.2 respectively), I am able to drag and drop comps from AE to PP with one project but not another. I literally just opened and saved both with updated versions of both programs so that they both have the same compatibility, and both projects are using all of the same settings.

The most frustrating part is that the one that isn't working has the most comps that I need to drag and drop, about 23. Using the import method, I can only select one comp at a time, and this is a pretty quick turnaround project. With drag and drop, I could literally just select, drag... and drop. From 3 keystrokes with drag-and-drop to 184 with the import method. So annoying.

August 2024.  I'm having this same problem.  I've been dragging and dropping for a long time and all of a sudden Premiere is not taking those comps, unless I go the long route as Furman mentioned in his post.

I've updated both premiere and AE, both files are saved.  I've resetted preferences, turned off computer, restarted computer and nothing seems to work.  Is this a bug in the newest version? Any help is greately appreciated.

I'm on a PC, PP and AE both 24.6.  Thanks.

Hi everyone, I came across a repro of this today. I found that I got the error message if the AE comp had not been saved. So that's a simple workaround - save your Ae project before trying to drag to PPro. I acknowledge that the error pop-up is not useful, and I wrote a bug on that, we'll track it as DVAPR-4245685, and I'll link this discussion thread to it.

Yes, indeed. Make sure that the AE comp is saved out to the latest version!

I'd also like a solution to this Adobe Support, please.

Hey lenak50164035,

Welcome to the community, and sorry for the issue. Could you let us know which version of Premiere Pro you are currently using? Would it be possible for you to share a screen recording of the issue? That would help us better understand the problem.

Thanks,

Ishan
