Can't Drag ANYTHING - clips to timeline, clips on timeline, nothing

I know this has been addressed before - the bug listed here does not  seem to fit my situation. I can't drag anything at all - nothing works at all from adding media to the project, adding it to the timeline, dragging sections around, nothing.

  • I only have one monitor, so it's not the scaling issue

  • I'm on a more recent Win11 Build (KB5060842)

  • I'm on Premiere 25.3 (build 84)

  • The PC is brand new, built by me so it's not like I'm dealing with legacy issues.

I literally can't do anything. I used keyboard shortcuts to at least drag my trimmed items around a little but it's essentially a brick at this point.

I've restarted Premiere, closed and reopened the sequences, the project, tried multiple other projects, and not a damn thing is working.

I'm at what passes for my wit's end and I'm one step from reverting back to Pr 2023 if this continues. Is there some moron setting I can adjust somewhere?

Huzzah, I think that's got it. Windows claimed there was no new driver but I added the Nvidia app and found the Studio driver I didn't know existed.

It needed a full system restart after the install (it didn't work immediately) but I'm cautiously optimistic that I'm back in business.

Thanks to @Ann Bens for the suggestion and solution.

Thanks for reaching out Ian. I can't recall the exact timing but I think this is as soon as I installed 25.3; again this is a brand new build and this may be the first time I've tried to use Premiere on this new machine, in which case it's definitely as soon as 25.3 went in.

I've got most of it here already, but let's cross the t's & dot i's:

  • Issue – Cannot drag anything into Premiere, drop anything on the timeline, or drag within the timeline
  • Steps to reproduce  open premiere, attempt to drag anything anywhere
  • Expected result  a clip, image, or the entire sequence should drag around the timeline; new content should be dragged from a folder into premiere
  • Actual result  nothing at all happened
  • Screen recording – see below
  • Adobe Premiere Pro version – Premiere 25.3 (build 84)
  • Operating system Win11 Build (KB5060842)
  • GPU driver version (Windows only) – NVIDIA 32.0.15.6094
  • Video format  N/A
  • Comparative information helps us understand more about when the issue occurs:
    • All Projects, New Projects, first seen yesterday

Did this happen as soon as you updated to 25.3, or were you able to use 25.3 with no issues before this Problem occurred?
