Can't drag effect

Hi,

I haven't used Premiere in about two months, and it had been working fine. But I opened it today for a project and  now I can't drag any effects onto a clip. I just get the "prohibited" cursor. I'm at 12.1.2 build 69. Any ideas?

If Premiere is acting weird reset preference and plugin cache by holding down shift + alt while opening Premiere.

See how that goes.

If that is not the issue, make sure you drag the effect all the way onto the clip.

Did you try to make a new project and then add an effect to a new clip on the timeline?

Or, how about you load the clip into Source Monitor and then drag the effect into Effect Controls panel? Does this work for you?
