Can't export nested sequence as mogrt

New Here ,

In Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2019, I created a text track and two rectangle tracks, did some automation on each and then nested and rendered them. When I went to File->Export, Motion Graphics Template was dimmed out. Why won't it allow me to export this sequence to a mogrt?

Thanks

kinda makes sense to me that it wouldn't do that.   What do you mean by automation?  Keyframing motion or other parameters in the effects controls?  And what do you mean by rectangle tracks?  Maybe you can export a mp4 and post it and we might figure out a workaround.    But if I nest just a graphic element, the option to save as a motion graphic template is grayed out.

A mogrt needs to be one single instant and not nested.

If you nest all paremeters are gone.

Pr MOGRTs can only be exported from a single Graphic in the Timeline. The way to nest shapes and text together is to create them all as Layers inside the same Graphic. You can then animate each layer separately or animate the whole Graphic using the Vector Motion controls inside the Effect Controls Panel. You can also Group layers together in the EGP Layers stack.

To follow up on James' comments ... (he's an engineer on mogrts, btw!) ... you need to create your graphic item IN the EGP panel. In one 'track' on the timeline, of course. But you can have multiple layers of things in the EGP controls themselves.

For more complext mogrts, there is more functionality in AfterEffects to create very amazing mogrts that are then exported for use within Premiere.

There is a free ebook by noted editor/fx wiz Jarle Leirpoll available on the Adobe website ...

Leirpoll ebook, Making Mogrts: https://adobe.ly/makemogrts

Easy and straightforward reading, covering why and when to make mogrts in Ae, and giving concrete examples of how to make mogrts period. (I was actually spell-checker & tester for the book, a great experience!)
