Cannot isolate audio channels when editing from a sequence in source monitor

New Here ,
Nov 03, 2024 Nov 03, 2024

When editing from a sequence in the source monitor, I cannot hear or see all the audio tracks in the mixer... only a stereo mix of that sequence.

This is especially frustrating as I would typically have a stringout of all takes from that angle in this sequence and I want to be able to isolate each audio channel/track and pick the clearest one to insert/overwrite into my program's timeline.

However, if the sequence is in the program monitor instead of the source... I can see and hear ALL channels/tracks.

This feels like a bug?

No, that's not a but, it's always been the basic design. The Source monitor has always been limited to a single waveform and 'combined view' of the audio of a clip.

There is a request to provide multi-track waveforms in the Source monitor, and is ackknowledged I think as "under consideration".

So search the Ideas section, and upvote any such post.
