Cannot open ANY files on premiere pro

Just got a MacBook Pro 2021 with M1 Pro.

This error code is popping up when I try to access any file on Premier Pro. It says "Project Folder Not Writable," even the folder with the sample videos created when installing Premier Pro. I reinstalled the app, gave it full file permissions across the computer, and still the same error keeps popping up.

Apple is trying to prevent you from screwing things up...  but can make getting things to work more difficult...
