Hi Michael,

Most of these problems are due to users not importing footage properly.

  • Copy the entire card and its file structure to your media drive.
  • Ingest the files via the Media Browser NOT via File > Import or by dragging the files into the Project panel.

Do NOT do the following if you have AVCHD footage:

  • Update the project file mid-way through your project.
  • Update the OS mid-way through the project.

If AVCHD files get red frames or go offline, do the following:

  • Change the name of the media files fol

Before going nuts dragging and changing files, just remove any third party plug in and try again.

Hi Blue Music,

HAVING SAME ISSUE - WON'T IMPORT .MTS FILES

I have heard from agents that updated projects are having trouble importing .mts file formats. Can you create a brand new project and see if it will import? Another thing to try is to rename the folder that .mts files are contained in and then try to import them.

Thanks,

Kevin

I have been having a lot of the same issues as reported on this thread. I am running a Macbook Pro (2013) with the most recent version of PP CC 2014.

I am editing a short doc and ingesting a TON of interview media. I noticed that not all the interviews were experiencing the problems listed in the thread but did come across it as I got deeper into my logging and organization process. The video was fine throughout but the issues were with the audio. It was drifting, not syncing etc.

I tried all the methods as described in the thread, and what I found in other Google searches etc. The problem MTS files in PP, played fine when I play them through the VLC media player. So I know that the media was recorded properly. However, my attempts to re-wrap the files using Media Encoder failed (Pro Res, DNXHD, MXF).

After more searching, I read a thread somewhere (can't remember where) to use a Re-wrap software, specifically meant for AVCHD. So I did a quick test to my desktop, copying the raw file to it then opening the app and re-wrapping it to m4v format. It all played find through Quiktime, as to where the other tests showed the audio problems. PROGRESS!

So now, I'm copying all the media to a new drive (wasn't expecting the extra space needed, so I'm putting it on a fresh drive). I'll rewrap the entire folder I pulled the single file from then try ingesting that new re-wrapped folder. FINGERS CROSSED!

The app i found and used is called: RewrapAVCHD it was free. It's a rather simple, not very robust app...but it's FREE! So why not. The test worked so I'll update if it works on the entire folder.

Hey pals, lots of "fun" here,... all at the same time.

To be consistent to whom could bring any light to the matter.

Even before I run CC 2015 update, it already started.

I taped a Recital for some client, with a couple gopros, a dslr and a handheld sony,

It all started nicely, multicam is a SWEET, just at the time to put the lower thirds, after just, a sort of bunch of months of hardwork, all in PP CC 2014.2, last monday, all the files in the project went offline, except for the dslr,

Then the whole thing gone crazy, I mean A LOT crazy, first trying to import the .mts into a fresh PPProj,... niente, sort of "Wrong kind of file" or "Corrupted file", or even "unknown compression type", guys,... I allways put adobe WAY above all others, but you have to admit that you play some jokes that all the community find no funny at all. Sorry to not be the first to tell you that.

So, came this option to RENAME folders, and empty cache. I did it, and it worked. SORT OF, because now, the mts files are all messed up in the timeline, all of 'em. And, now... this 2015 update, that herited the issue. I am not at all losing any money here. But I'm sure, with this joke, U deservedly lost A LOT of your clients. Not this one, that still love the house, but it is no funny at all!

Help, if you could

I've noticed an issue with Sony cameras that creates some of these problems.  If the camera names the clips 'Clip #1, Clip #2, Clip #3' it can confuse Adobe.  The space and '#' in the filename was a very bad decision on Sony's part.  If you duplicate your footage, name the folder 'Renamed' or something, and rename the clips without a space or '#', it can solve issues of footage going offline or relinking to the wrong clip, as I've experienced.. Example: Clip_1

It may be true about Sony's choice, besides I didn't checked de file naming, but,... c'mon. It had worked the first 100 days or so... then, out of the blue, it emerge, creating this huge mess., and gopro mp4's are upon the issue.

Still on the hang.
