Change formats : .AVC to .MP4

Hello,

I explain you my problem :

I starded a project with .AVC rushs and I realized 2 days ago that the .MP4 formats doesn't crash the program monitor.

I would like to know if that is possible to rename all my rushs to .MP4 and being sure that premiere pro take account this changement ?

Finally I changed all my rush's extensions with Ant Renamer. After relink my rush's all is better !

Even if that did work, you're not actually doing anything that would be helpful. Premiere would likely be ignoring your changed extension and still seeing your files as .avc, since that's what they actually are. What about transcoding your footage to an intermediate format like ProRes or DNxHD and then relinking your files?
