Hi! I understand there is an effect in premiere pro called "change to color" to help change the color of an object, etc. I can't find that effect in my premiere at all and I can't find if it is a default effect or if I need to download it and import it into premiere. Help please?
If you are on a mac effect has been removed.
Use Lumetri instead.

To fill out Ann's answer a bit, you would use the HSL Secondary tab of the Color workspace/Lumetri panel. Use the eyedropper to select the color, the sliders and masking to refine the selection, and the controls below to change to the color you want.

Thank you for expounding on this! Lol I am trying to deepen my knowledge of premiere pro so your detail of using Lumetri is EXTREMELY helpful! Thanks again and happy new year!

Lumteri is not a total replacement for the "Change to Color" tool and Adobe should not have removed this tool. It takes a lot of tweaking to change colors now. Additionally, there is no way to change a color to a specific Hex code. Sometimes I have clients that need simple a color changed in a graphic and the color needs to be a specific brand color associated with a color code. I cannot do this with Lumetri. I really wish Adobe would bring that specific effect back into the mix.

For that, you would need to try to find a Uservoice request for it, or make one. And get a LOT of people to upvote it. I would happily vote for it myself, of course.

I am unfamiliar with what a Uservoice Request is. Where would one go to start this process?

It's what you get to if on the right side of the forum, you click on the "Submit Feedback" line.

Hey Robot Fist. I was able to configure a .mogrt in After Effects to contain the change to color effect. Have you tried that? Not as simple as a drag and drop effect, but it seems to work.
Thanks,
Kevin

I have not tried that. I'm not sure how to create .mogrt files yet.
Someone on another forum suggested the "Color Replace" tool, which is very close. So far this is the best option I've found. It's a crude solution, as it doesn't allow softening/feathering or subtle lightness/saturation changes. But it does allow you to dial in a color code, which was the biggest issue.

Do you need the effect to be animatable?

I do not. The effect is primarily used to change logos and graphic assets provided by brands. This sort of thing could be done in Photoshop but jumping into another program takes a ton of time for something like this.

I sent you a PM. Check your In box for a mogrt that may work for you.
Thanks,
Kevin
