Change to Color. Selecting the object to change color

New Here ,
Nov 11, 2016 Nov 11, 2016

Hi, I am trying to change the color of a small object in my video (for example: the color of a finger nail). I have found a tutorial that shows me to use Change to Color to pick the color I want to change is from, and the color I want to change it to by using the dropper. However, I am not seeing how I select the object. I think my other issue is that I may be changing the other colors that have a similar color in my video. I would normally think the lasso tool, but there isn't even a list of tools to use. Please help.

I am trying to recall Premiere knowledge I learned two years ago, so please be detailed if you can. Thanks.

many ways to do that

- You can use HSL Secondary to isolate the color you like to change and isolate it using the saturation and Hue and white level.

- You can use change to color on a duplicated layer and the mask the targeted area only

1. Add change color effect

2. use the eye drop to choose targeted color want to change  and the Destination color

3. Mask the area if you have similar color in the same video so only the masked area will be affected, if it's moving shot you can track the mask .

My issue is that I am unsure how to mask from that section. And I only have the dropper to select the "to & from" colors. I dont know how to mask so that only the finger nail gets painted white.

Sorry, I should have asked you about your premiere version, always try to provide enough information to get the right answer, I guess your premiere version masking option not available .

if its a steady shot you can use crop or similar effect to crop your affected scene only of course your cropped layer is duplicated and placed on top .

Instead of having to guess post a screenshot showing the fingernails.

Which Pr version are you using.
