changing the still image duration in existing slide show

I have created a simple slide show with captions and title slides with animated effects. I had to individually re-crop each image on the timeline to fit the format. The client has now requested the 4 sec still image duration to go to 6 sec. I know I am supposed to change the default duration in preferences from 4 to 6 and reimport the images, but I have all the reworked sizes and captions in place and don't want to start over. I have tried selecting a section and right-clicking for Clip Speed/Duration and changing duration, but only the last frame changes.

Very new to Premiere, so struggling!

    Hi Shirleyh2016,

Calculate what the length all of the images will be when you increase their duration to 6 seconds.

Select all of your stills on the timeline, right click on one of them and select "nest" from the pop out menu.

Now apply the rate stretch tool to the nest and drag out the nest until you arrive at the desired length.

Hello, In my version (Premiere Elements 2018) I don't get a "nest" option in the popout menu. Any ideas how I can change all of the still images duration at once? There is over 200 slides. I need to shorten the whole thing by about 8 minutes.

At present the feature is broken.

    Have to wait for update.

I have tried selecting a section and right-clicking for Clip Speed/Duration and changing duration

Also check the box for Ripple.

    Hi Jim,

Thanks for replying. I didn't drag the end of the clip as there were chapters in the middle I didn't want changed and I wanted all the images to go to exactly 6 secs. What I ended up doing was taking each chapter and spacing all images, selecting and then changing speed/duration to exactly 6. They wouldn't expand without doing that...oddly. It was more tedious, but do-able.

    Hi Shirleyh2016,

Have you tried to drag out the beginning or end of the image clip on the timeline?

Can you include a screen shot of what you're trying to achieve?
