Chapter Marker Names

Does anyone how to get the chapter names you place on chapters in Premiere to show when you skip to chapters when playing a BD or DVD instead of the default of names of Chapter 1, Chapter 2, etc...

That's something you have to do when setting menus in the authoring program ... if you do a full burn to a DVD or BluRay disc setting. Rather than just copy the exported file as data to the disc. PrPro isn't designed to actually create a DVD/B-D file.

I am using Encore CS6 to author, but cannot get the result I am looking for...getting the chapter names to display when I skip to chapters when playing the created DVD. Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

Kindest regards...Jere

You need to change that in the Encore app as you're setting up your menus.

Not sure if this answers your question. But you can title your chapter markers in either Premiere or Encore. In Premiere you double click on the chapter marker to name it in the popup window. In Encore you click on the chapter marker and name it in the Properties Panel. As far as the chapter marker name displaying on BD or DVD player, I'm not sure if there is a way to do that. BD player have become way more sophisticated than DVD players, so maybe some BD players actually show the chapter marker names that you make in Premiere/Encore. But I wouldn't count on it, and that would depend on the player.

As Brandon says..

If you named in PR, check it by looking to see whether the chapters are there in EN after import.

But my tests indicate that the chapter names do not display via DVD or BD, just numbers. If they do, it would be player specific.

Yes, seems odd...

Thank you so much for responding.  It does seem odd.
