I am putting together a synced video of a podcast and one of the clips is from my iphone. For the first about 7 cuts in the clip, every time I render, it always plays my cut from the BEGINING of the clip, rather then where it is cut. I have been editing for a while and I have never ran into this. So in my rendered video it looks rediculous, I have no idea what is going on or how to fix this and it is unfortuent because it's a 2.5 hour long render. I'm pretty lost on this one and haven't been able to find anything else on the interet, all help is appreciated, thank you.

Iphones do not sure video at a precise standard frame rate and this might be the source of your problem. I'd export to a more stable format and then relink to this file. Some edits might require tweaking but hopefully most of your work will come over.

"Iphones do not sure video at a precise standard frame rate and this might be the source of your problem."
Many phones record using Variable Frame Rate and this might be the source of your problem.
"I'd export to a more stable format and then relink to this file."
Open your clip in the free HandBrake application, and in Export you will set a Fixed Frame Rate, typically 29.97, then export a new file. Import that new file into Premiere for editing.

Thanks, I'll give that a try. Maybe thats why it also took so many hours to render? Seemed outragreous considering my video is only cuts no real effects.

Also, will there be an easy way to just re-link the clips so I can keep the same cuts and arrangement or will I have to start over?

no promises, but maybe. If you relink to the clip you export from handbrake, it may maintain all your edits. You'll need to check all your cuts but the frame rate variation is gonna be small so if you need to make an adjustment it'll probably just be a frame or 2.
Regardless, if you just have to re-edit the problem clips in to your sequence, it should be difficult to match the edit. Be sure and keep us updated on how things work out. And remember to export from handbrake at the highest possible quality. There've been a few threads here about that recently

also, not to alarm you, but we're really only guessing as to the problem... it's an educated guess, but a guess nonetheless.

The problem was super hard to fix, my soultion was to wait for the video file to upload to my cloud then download it, for some reason thats the only way I didn't have a lot of issues. I found out it has to do with the way iPhone actually sometimes can adjust and change the frame rate while it is shooting so it just confuses the heck out of adobe. I think when you download it from the cloud it puts it at a steady FPS. So that's my best advice if you are having issues with phone footage you emailed/air dropped or any other way.

There should be no need to upload/download the clip, just convert to constant frame rate in Handbrake, then edit in Premiere, as stated earlier.
Thanks

Sorry it took so long to respond but in a way this one was "unfixable" it turns out iphone actually changes the frame rate a little bit as it is recording as part of its light adjustment, it typically doesnt cause any issues in shorter clips but this particular clip was 30+ minutes long and the frame rate changed so much throughout the clip adobe just couldn't handle it. I ended up having to break the clip into smaller sections and there were even a few wonky parts that just seemed unusable, it was pretty much a nightmare, only way around this I have found is to record shorter clips or try using an app to lock in your fps. Good luck and thanks! Oh and when I tried to make a proxy that really got messy...
