(Confused) Changing position of text using the "transform" effect separates the words from the box

Hello! I'm using the "transform" effect to animate text so that I can add motion blur, but I'm running into an issue. When I change the position using the transform controls, it only moves the words themselves and not the box, which makes it difficult to edit the text later on. I've spent the last several hours researching and troubleshooting, but I've still not been able to fix it. Below I've attached screenshots of my effect control tabs, as well as a Youtube video showing the problem. I'm not sure if this is relevant, but I made the text box with a single click (instead of clicking and dragging). I'm also on Windows and using Premiere Pro version 24.5. Any help is greatly appreciated!

It is entirely relevant that you created this with "point" text, as with that process, there is no text box, only text on screen.

For what you are wanting, do a text box ... click and drag to create the box, type in the box, now it will work as you expect.
