convert color space information in Prores RAW source settings to C-log3 (when recording Canon R5C).

Hello.

I connected the NINJA-V to a Canon R5C and recorded the file in ProresRAW format.

When color editing this file, in the Prores RAW source setting of Effect control, Color space can be selected from the pull-down menu, but only Cinema Gamut/C-log2 is available for Canon.

I would like to select C-log3 in this pulldown (Color space ).

The reason is that Canon R5C cannot select C-log2, but only C-log3. Therefore, PremierPro converts the C-log3 recording to C-log2, so the conversion will not be accurate.

Please let me know if there is a way to set the COLOR SPACE correctly.

Or since CinemaGamut is selected for Color space, is Color space converted correctly and whether the Log curve is C-log2 or C-log3 does not affect the result of the Color space conversion?

Hi @kajijun,

I got your message. I hope you're doing fine today. Have you solved the issue, or are you still having problems? Have you tried 23.6 yet? If not, try it and let us know if it works better. I hope the community can assist you. Have a good weekend.

Thanks,

Hi.Kevin.

Thanks for the reply.

I have just installed the new version, V23.6, and unfortunately, the pull-down menu in the Prores RAW source setting of Effect control is the same as in the old version, with only Cinema Gamut/C-log2 as an option, and C-log3 is not selectable.

And  I did not record the display status in the old version, so I am unable to compare and verify whether the display has been improved in the new version.

But fortunately, I have changed my camera to another manufacturer, so I no longer need to respond to this question, so you can close this case.

I am about 90% sure Cannon send CLOG 2 over HDMI RAW. If you are recording in ProRes raw you must be using HDMI RAW. So it is indeed CLOG 2 and the Adobe settings are correct if that is the case. Hope this helps
