Hi, does anyone know of a secure way to convert an SRT file to VTT for captions? I am working with proprietary information on a video and I don't see a way to export a VTT file in premier. Using a VTT file is required on the sharing platform, an SRT will not work.
Thanks!

Curious if you ever found a secure solution for this, we are currently looking for one.

There are a number of converters available. The issue is whether you need styling/position information, or just what PR carries in the srt (which is very little).

My specific inquiry is related to the original poster's question regarding *secure* solutions for proprietary information. I'm really not interested in solutions that aren't secure, as you pointed out those are easy enough for anyone to find.

Sorry, yes I did not address that specifically.
SubtitleEdit (PC only) is downloadable and will convert to VTT. I have not tested recently; it provides some support for positioning. I can't tell about styling at the moment.

Conversion from SRT to the basic VTT format is not difficult, and can be done with text editing tools. My favorite is Notepad++. But converting to the full VTT format is more complicated.
A MAC tool is here, but I'm getting a server not found error:
