CUDA render not working GTX 1070 8GB

Community Beginner ,

I have i7700k and GTX 1070 8GB

There is a problem with new version premier. Cuda render doesnt work.

I'm using GPU-Z too so I'm sure it doesnt work.  GPU is not helping to render at all.

My program up-to-date using Premier Pro CC 2017 11.1.0.222 Build I have latest GPU drivers too.

What is the problem ?

Why cuda not working?

What effects do you have on that sequence? If you don't have any GPU-accelerated effects, you won't see any GPU activity anyway. It's only used for certain parts of the export, found on the list of GPU-accelerated effects.

Hi Sinani98580044,

Sorry for the issue. It might be an issue with GPU driver compatibility. Have you tried to downgrade the GPU drivers & test?

Thanks,

Vidya.

Yes I did try old new drivers doesnt work.

GPU helps for previews. While I'm editing the footage I can see on GPU-Z card helping the fast editing.

But when I start render it doesnt help at all. GPU is idle when rendering.

I don't think you can rely on GPU-Z for this.

Export a small test twice, once with CUDA on and again with it off.

If you see a difference in export times, it's working.

Thank you  R Neil Haugen

I think you are right. I try to add some more effect and try to render same footage.

It uses more GPU to help when you add some effects. But it is minimal.

Yes GPU helps but not %100.

Looks like rendering not working what I was thinking as it is

Hey, that's something we all learn when starting out. You get the good video card with plenty of vRAM, and ... then it doesn't do that much for some projects. What ... ?

There's a list of the GPU-accelerated effects you can search for. Those will make good use of that card. Basically, re-sizing, the major color things like the Lumetri, some of those things including Warp Stabilizer I think ... all make very good use of the GPU.
