Cursor lags and jumps around during playback

Hello,

during playback, the cursor jumps around and lags. Sometimes, the audio stops playing for half a second or so, sometimes it jumps back a few frames, often video and/or audio just stop for a fraction of a second, etc.

I have just updated premiere pro 2019 and I have Windows 10 Home, 64 bit on a Hp Spectre 360 laptop with 16Gb ram and a Intel i7-8705G Processor with Radeon RX Vega M GL graphics.

Thanks, but I from what I understand, proxies are for work on low-power devices?  I don't think lack of power is the problem, because I didn't have this problem before on the same device.

Are you running out of free hard drive space?

What is your hard drive setup (how many, what kind, what is on each, and how full)?

If that is not the issue:

Try resetting the preferences:

FAQ: How to reset preferences in Premiere Pro?

If that doesn't work, try resetting the Workspaces:

Reset a workspace

Reset the current workspace to return to its original, saved layout of panels.

  1. Do one of the following:
    • Click the Workspace menu icon and select Reset to Saved Layout.
    • Choose Window > Workspace > Reset to Saved Layout.

from here:

https://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-pro/using/workspaces.html

If that doesn’t work ,try updating or rolling back your graphics driver directly from the video card manufacturer’s site.
