Are you asking about an external drive?

Do you want to connect it to edit a project file?

the project file would be created on my computer, but i would be just reading the footage from the mac drive.

its all about speed

because we are shooting something that needs to be veyr quickly edited and uploaded, there is no time to copy across the data onto a windows drive. (@100GB this takes too long to transfer)

i know there are some softwares that claim to allow you to read a mac drive, but i dont know if i can actually edit using premiere in this way.

How is the drive formatted?

If exFAT or FAT32, yes.

exFAT32 can be read by both mac and pc.

oddly, what you save by thinking you can edit and upload quickly using that external exFAT formatted drive, will probably cost you more time than simply Xfer to the internal drive of the PC, due to the connection between computer and external drive speed.

Or, if you truly mean "Mac formatted" (HFS+) then yes it's still possible.

I use Paragon HFS+ to mount Mac drives on my Windows system.
