Edit Scene Detection , Wheres the Metadata Stored?

I did a scene detection on a quicktime file and when I bring it back in all markers are still there. I was wondering where the metadata for those markers are stored. Is the quicktime file saved with the information now?

Yes.

If you import a clip, and add clip markers to it.

PP writes those markers into the file as metadata.

So if you import that clip into another project it has the markers there as well.

The same thing happens if you change eh clip metadata in teh Metadata or Project panels.

The preference Mike mentioned above can change that though.

It will depend on these settings:

You can remove them by selecting your clip and choosing 'Markers>Clear all markers'.

By defaut, clip markers are saved as file metadata, assuming the file supports it.

It's been that way for a very long time.

But when I place the clip in Premiere and the markers are put on, does premiere resave the clip with new metadata so that data is on that file permanently?
