Urgent
Hi. I am working on a project and was given davinci rendered proxy files. I have edited these low resolution clips but i dont have original files. And I didnt toggle the proxy button. Sorry if I am doing wrong. If I get original files, how can I replace or relink those with existing clips? Thanks in advance.

Hey Jomon,
Please go to the Project Panel, select the proxy media, right-click, and go to Proxy > Reconnect Full resolution Media. Select a file and click the Attach button on the lower-right corner to attach the full-resolution media. Let us know how it goes.
Thanks,
Ishan

Hi Ishan,
Thank you for the quick response. In the premiere pro documentation (2019), I read that the proxies and original files cannot have the same name, and the proxies should have come with a proxy_ suffix. In that case, do I need to rename all the files with the suffix? And after attaching full-resolution media, can I toggle between proxy and original while editing and exporting? (I am asking this because the proxies are not created by Adobe Premiere Pro.)

I see it's been a while since you've posted, but I'm running into something similar and wondering—did anyone end up finding a good way to relink missing original files when you only have proxies left in the project? I'm curious if using the Media Browser makes a difference versus relinking through the Project Panel. Would love to hear how anyone solved this or if there's a smoother workflow.

I ran into a similar issue after switching between machines and found that the original media paths got messed up. I was using rdp hosting to access Premiere on a remote server, and I think the file paths didn't match locally and remotely. I re-linked one file manually through the media browser, and Premiere auto-located the rest once it knew where to look—just made sure the folder structure was the same.
