Egpu for a 2018 MacBook Pro?

Hi, Adobe.

I'm a video editor who works with 4K footage.

Would attaching an egpu be a MUCH faster, trustworthy alternative to what I have now on my my high-end (at the time) Macbook Pro?

I work mostly in Premiere Pro.
