Enter button won't play In/Out selection

Inrecently downloaded premier 2024 and was having issues with the enter hotkey for rendering and playing from In/Out selection. Fixed it by changing the keybind to 'render from in out' instead of the 'effects' default.

Was working fine for a day then when I was in the middle of editing my project it all of a sudden will not play back from the in/out points. It just plays from the beginning of the timeline no matter what I do.

If I go to preferences > timeline > uncheck 'play after rendering previews' it doesn't even play the video anymore

go to keyboard shortcuts and check to make sure Premiere hasn't added or changed the command.  I often find that after updating that a second command has been added to the keyboard shortcut

You can use the shortcut Option + K (macOS) or Alt + K (Windows) to play the selected In to Out range.
