Error compiling movie, GPU Renderer Error, Unable to Process Frame

New Here ,

Hello all, I'm really struggling with an export that I should have no problem doing. Everytime I export this 13 minute short, that's 4K (I'm exporting in 1080p) it gives me one of two messages, the first, "Error compiling movie, GPU Renderer Error, Unable to Process Frame" and the other is "Error compiling movie, Accelerated renderer error, Unable produce frame. Either stops at a random 4 minute timecode or a 9 minute timecode at which there is an after effects shot. More specifics, I'm using the third party plug-in "Film Convert", a color grading software, which has always been super reliable and has never given me problems so I don't think that's the issue. There are only two After Effects shots, which aren't that lengthy at all. I'm exporting with software encoding, but refuse to change the renderer from CUDA GPU to Software only, because that isn't a work around at all. It'd take days for me to get one export, and I need to do a few. I've updated my graphics card and display driver and everything on this computer appears to be up to date. I've even been on a computer share with Adobe support for hours and they couldn't help me. I've opened it up in a new project file and tried, I've opened it up in a new sequence and tried, I really don't know what to do and any help would be greatly appreciated. Should I try and open it up in Adobe Premiere Pro 2020, and export from there?  I'll list more computer specs down below.

It of course would be nice to know the media you're working with and the export settings. Please post a screen-grab of the Export dialog showing the entire right-side by clicking on the picture icon on the Reply box format bar and uploading the image.

There are several things you could try ...

  • On each clip with effects applied, nest the first effect, then apply the rest to the nested clip. This sometimes sorts our computation issues.
  • Export any AfterEffects comps directly from Ae as full video clips, use those clips to replace the comps in your sequence.
  • Close Premiere, and manually go to the folders with all the cache/cache-database files and delete everything.

Thanks so much for the response. Bound and determined to fix this. If you can help me, I'd be more than happy to venmo or paypal you some compensation for your time.

Let me get that screenshot right now, and we can go from there.

Also, I have tried that third suggestion with no luck.

Here they are, these are my ideal settings, but I've tried various export settings with the same messages.

The export settings look fine. Have you tried any of my suggestions from above?

Also ... stopping at a "random" four minute spot ... is it on one clip there? And it seems to be on the Ae shot ... is that Ae shot a dynamically linked comp? If so, export that out of AfterEffects and replace the clip on the sequence with that exported clip from Ae.

Well, each export it'll give me a different time code for the problem. The after effect shot has been the timecode a few times though. When nesting, should I nest each shot that has any effect on it, or just the after effects shots for now?

If the nesting situation doesn't work, I'll try that 2nd option for sure.

Also, if not no worries, but is there anyway possible I could maybe get on a call with you? You seem very knowlegable and helpful, more so than anyone from adobe I've been in chats with. If you have a facebook or instagram maybe we could communicate through there, and if you wanted to share your number then you could. Either way, if you'd rather stay, I'm more than grateful for any help I can get.

My after effects shot got somehow unlinked, so I had to relink it and then render the timeline again, it's currently rendering. I did the media cache dump last night so I want to make sure the timeline is rendered before I try another export.

Also, not sure if they are a dynamic link, all I did from the start was right click, then chose "replace with after effect comp." then did the effect of after effects, saved and closed out. The effect has been there and seems to be fine. Also my entire timeline is now rendered with both AE shots nested, trying to export again.

Yes, that Ae "replace with ... " is using a comp (composition) of Ae run via "headless" operation of Ae by Premiere. It's a complicated process.

Open that back in Ae, and export that to a full intraframe codec like Cineform or DNxHD/R or ProRes. Import that file into Premiere and replace the area of the comp with that file.

Great, doing that now, I'll let you know how it goes.

Also, I nested the two AE shots and tried to export, still with same message with the timecode being right around the AE shots.
