ERROR - Matrix Cannot Be Inverted - Adobe Premiere 2025

I'm currently attempting to open an older project file. Whenever I open the file, it prompts me to convert the project. Once I convert it, I receive another pop-up saying Upgrade Legacy Titles; I click Ok and it shows me my sequence, but I have no access to the project files. Whenever I go to Window > Project > ProjectName.prproj, it gives me the alert: ERROR - Matrix Cannot Be Inverted.

Could anyone help troubleshoot with me, please? Thanks!

Hi @Moh4wk -
Thanks for submitting your bug report. We need a few more details to try to help with the issue.

Which exact version of Premiere Pro are you using?

Which exact version are you upgrading from?

If you create a new project and go to File > Import, then select your old project, a dialog box will appear asking whether you want to import the entire project or just specific sequences.  Does that help with your issue?

Sorry for the frustration.

Hello,

I'm using Version 25.2.3 (Build 4) and I'm unsure of what version my original project file is from.

Using the method you described about creating a new project and going to File > Import and selecting my old project worked perfectly! Thanks for the assistance.

Your solution sounds reasonable, and I have imported sequences from other projects into new projects before when a project for whatever reason became corrupted, but in this case, I am attempting to import a sequence from a 10-year-old project into a new project in PPro 25.2.3. The progress bar gets to about 60% then nothing. I let it sit that way for 30 minutes while it was converting, but it never completed the process.

Is it just the one project or other project duplicate the problem?
