I feel as though every time I start a new project, premeir pro always comes up with the weirdest bugs and this one is by far the weirdest. Itll let me edit a project for about 3 minutes before it hits me with an error message that says "Saving backup projects to creative cloud requires a creative cloud files directory. Please install the creative cloud desktop application to enable this feature." When I literally opened premeir pro through the desktop app. Ive tried uninstalling and reinstalling the desktop app, but I cant find an uninstall button anywhere. Along with this, google has 0 answers. Some help would be greatly appreciated as this project in particular was for school.
That's exactly the reason why.
Uncheck "save backup project to creative cloud" and that solves the project crashing. Save locally for now and look for an alternative cloud syncing solution.

Try resetting the CC App.
To reset the Creative Cloud desktop app, make sure it's in the foreground, then press:
Win: Ctrl + Alt + R
Mac: Cmd + Opt + R
If that doesn't work, try uninstalling and reinstalling the CC App:

I'm having the same issue. Uninstalling / Repair doesn't work. The error completely crashes premiere on Windows. I just turned Creative Cloud off and that's my fix for now. What will it take to fix this? A complete uninstall of the adobe suite?

I am having the same issue. I tried all the fixes listed, and Premire still crashes after about 5 minutes each time. How else can this be fixed?

Have you checked that you have permission to create and modify files in the Creative Cloud directory?

This problem randomly started happining to me today while I made absolutly no changes on my ends to creative cloud or premiere. It instantly crash premiere when I click on "ok" and the only way is to disable sync. I guess this is the way adobe choose to force people to stop using creative cloud files sync before they stop supporting this actually nice feature for their user like the greedy bunch that they are? You guys really wants Resolve to take over or what?

This is insane...
There is no end to premiere pro crashes. Our whole wedding business is afected by this error now. 4 PCs all randomly have the same problem. No way of working like this. What are we supposed to do with time sensitive projects?
Many videographers suggest Resolve and i only stay with adobe because of the transition fear. Enough is enough though. Better take the time to jump to another app than this happening all the time.
If someone can find a solution even a temp solution that whould be awsome.
The stress that this is causing us is immense

What are the complete computer specs, including hard drives (how many, what kind, what is on each, what capacity, and how full)?
If NVIDIA graphics, make sure to use the latest Studio Driver from NVIDIA (NOT the Game Driver).

Bob the problem came up this morning without us changing any hardware in a long time or doing any win update in the last 2 weeks. The problem is at the adobe end

Also disabling Autosave seems to work

I would put money on the new Autosave to be the issue. They were in such a hurry to implement this killer feature of Resolve that they broke other things. Typical. I have this issue now as well and it's so annoying. If I didn't have to get certified in Adobe for work, I would just use Resolve full time.

Happening to me today too, this is awful

I believe this has got to do with the discontinuation of Creative Cloud Synced files, which started today,
But does this also mean that the online auto-backup of our saves is gone too?
If yes that is preposterous, I mean why?

For now I downloaded the Google Drive windows app and set my Premiere Folder to be in the local folder of Google Drive, so everything gets backed up on the Google Drive Cloud.
But Adobe please fix this, it's hilariously wrong.

I totally agree with you, so many projects are saved in the cloud and it was really convenient

premiere must also be disconnected from the creative cloud in the programme itself after the service has been discontinued.
Remove the tick in your preferences -> auto-save -> "save backup project to creative cloud"
had the same problem, now premiere is running fine.
