Hi. im trying to render a 25 min video to mp4 but the estimated file size is massive (3016 MB).
By @Lewis7k
The estimated file size and the actual file size you get when you export always differ. What´s the file size of the exported file?

Lower the bitrate to get a smaller file. Change preset to either Adaptive Medium Bitrate or Adaptive Low Bitrate or adjust the bitrate manually. Another way is to use 2 pass VBR instead of 1 pass VBR.

With 2 pass VBR and Adaptive Medium Bitrate its 1.97 GB. Its still high isnt it for a 25min video?

If you manually set it to 2 pass VBR you must manually change the bitrate/s as well. They wont automagically change. So if you first test Adaptive Medium Bitrate and then manually set it to 2 pass VBR the bitrate will stay until you manually change it in the Video tab/section.
It´s hard to say anything about file size, iow too big or too small, since it depends on what you are going to do with the file. Social media, archive, broadcast, YouTube, etc, etc.

I was just going to post it to You Tube for now. Do you think it will be ok to upload it still at that size. I thought the size should be in the hundreds of MB but I may be wrong on that. If you think its about right then ill go ahead and upload it?

Since Youtube will re-compress the file you upload you want to upload with the best quality, iow a big file. You really don´t want to upload an already hard compressed smaller file.
55878965 gave a very valuable tip here. (Personally i always upload the ProRes LT file directly to YouTube.)
