Export captions as .xml file

New Here ,
Jun 18, 2020 Jun 18, 2020

Hi!

For translation I need to export my captions as .xml files. Export to .srt is no problem, but the only other option I have is .stl.

I know that XML is/was possible, bacause I did it already last year. But now I can't find the option anymore.

Thanks for your help!

BR,  Max

I'm using Premiere Pro 2020 (14.3.0)

This appears to have changed, at least since PR 2019.1.5, which I just tested. I updated to PR 2020.3.0 yesterday, and can no longer test 2020.2.0. I wonder if it changed since my comments in #4 here:

https://community.adobe.com/t5/premiere-pro/issues-with-closed-captioning/m-p/11182155#M275292

I see no comments re captions for 14.3 in the new features, fixed issues, or known issues documents.

Previously, for Open Caption sidecar export, you got .srt and .xml (W3C/SMPTE/EBU Timed Text File - the same option as available for Closed 608/708). Now, for Open, you get .srt and .stl (EBU N19).

In any event, there is no longer .xml sidecar export of Open Captions. You can export .stl and use a third party app to convert (e.g. SubtitleEdit).
