Export MP4 with copyright metadata embedded

Contributor ,

I am trying to export a short clip from Premiere as an MP4 using H.264 with copyright metadata embedded. However, this is not an option when exporting with Media Encoder. I can only export a Sidecar file.

Does anyone know how to embed the copyright data in the file please?

Unfortunately, it seems like Premiere cannot embed metadata in MP4 outputs (even though that format supports embedding). I think you need to look at 3rd-party tools for adding tags to the file after it's been exported.

Thanks for thé reply. I have opened a ticket with Adobe just in case this can be done. It does seem odd that something like this which must be a common requirement can't be done when generating content.

I've tried this as well. There's something about Adobe's implementation of the MP4 container that prevents adding metadata, even by third party software. The only option I've found is to export from Premiere and the re-encode through a third party software like Handbrake to create an MP4 that accepts metadata.

It's very frustrating.

unless something has changed, you used to be able to add sidecar data with h.264 in the quicktime container exports.

There was some licensing issue, I think. Quicktime no longer supports h.264. The supported codecs are either huge or low res.
