Export PRORES 4444XQ Workflow

New Here ,
Sep 25, 2019 Sep 25, 2019

I am testing out our workflow for delivering our final show to PRORES 4444 XQ. I researched a few options on the net and have found that the old trick of pasting the 4444 XQ codec into the Quicktime plugins folder so it appears in Premiere Pro no longer works. I am using DaVinci Resolve as my third party software for export which does export 4444XQ,  but am curious if anyone has a tried workflow for this type of delivery. Thanks!

How about just exporting from Premiere using ProRes 4444XQ?

No trick involved. Select Quicktime as your format, Apple ProRes 4444 as your preset, then down in the video tab select the XQ variant.

Thanks for replying! It's unfortunately not a codec option :(. So, I tried adding it to my Quicktime plugins, but didn't work.

Thanks Ann! Visual definitely helps. Unfortunately it's not showing up. I tried adding the XQ codec to my Quicktime folder in the library in finder, but it didn't show in Premiere. I appreciate your response.

Hi M,

I don't believe it's available on Mac just yet.

Upvote here.
If you need it now, check out After Codecs.
