I need help to find the appropriate export settings out of Premiere Pro (also using MediaEncoder, or this as a standalone), for an eventual upload to our YouTube Channel. We are taking a 1st generation MP4 file download from WebEx, where the highest possible recording resolution is only 1024 x 768, and then because of this, it has either letterbox or side pillar bars so I have to crop out around the actual presentation to get rid of the bars. We typically record the WebEx presentations on a much higher desktop resolution, at something like 1920 x 1080 with a 16:9 ratio.
Even when I did test renders at the 1024 x 768 on my desktop, I still got these bars. The end result after exporting a 2nd Gen MP4 from Premiere usually degrades the quality of the original download even further, and sometimes greatly increases the file size. I know Premiere has multiple YouTube export settings, but it would great to figure out exactly which pre-set to use, or if a custom version is necessary.
After uploading the video to YouTube, when I check the video locally it looks OK. Then I upload on YouTube and view in full screen mode, and the video quality drops down. Possibly because of the cropping of the exported video.
Here is what the file properties list for the 1st Gen MP4 download direct from WebEx, prior to another encoding in MediaEncoder:
VIDEO: Data Rate: 26 kbps Total Bitrate: 46 kbps Frame Rate: 8 frames/sec
AUDIO: Bit Rate: 20 kbps Channels: 1 (mono) Audio Sample Rate: 8 khz
Any thoughts or suggestions would be great. Thanks!
