Hi all,
I'm exporting a 1 minute video for a client, and doing some tests outputting from Premiere.
I notice that when rendering h264 as an .mp4, I have the ability to adjust bitrate, but when rendering h264 to .mov I do not have the same option, and it seems file size is quite a bit larger (I'm selecting a bitrate of 14/16 when rendering to .mp4).
Can someone explain how the .mov version is handling bitrate? Is this likely the explanation for larger file size, or is it something else?
Thank you!
ML

MP4 is the standard. Go with that.

thanks Jim, still, if anyone would enlighten me on the above question, that would be useful.
For instance, if a client thinks they absolutely must have an .mov, what is the argument I should give for .mp4? (other than simply, it's a smaller file)
