Extensions crash Premiere

Hi everyone,

I've got the latest version of Premiere pro installed and I noticed that everytime I try and launch an extension I get a serious error and Premiere crashes.

The extension I initially thought was the problem was Mister Horse "Animation Composer" So I uninstalled that, and tried Colorista. That crashed. So I uninstalled that one too. Then I tried Pluraleyes. That crashed it, so I uninstalled Pluraleyes. It uninstalled the app, but left the extension in Premiere, which is odd. Then I tried to uninstall another extension and it remained in the extensions menu as well. So I've got 2 extensions that I can't uninstall.

Fine.

So I uninstallead Premiere, and did a clean install there. The extensions were still in the dropdown menu. So I installed a legacy version of Premiere. The extensions are still there. So I guess my question is, how do I get rid of these extensions and stop Premiere from crashing?

A quick update for anyone in a similar boat.

I was FINALLY able to get rid of the PluralEyes extension from the dropdown menu.

Big shoutout to this thread for having similar, but different problems than I'm having.

For some reason Red Giant decided to label PluralEyes as PE4 in this particular folder.

Anyway, I was able to delete it, and with no extensions left to show, the extension menu option was greyed out.

Success!...at least for a few seconds.

I uninstalled Premiere, reinstalled it, then tried installing Mister Horse Animation Composer.

I tried to click the link, and Premiere crashed on me again.

I'm at another roadblock here.

After some consideration, I decided to upgrade my m.2 drive to a larger and faster one. So that meant a complete Windows reinstall with a new Adobe software install as well and this has fix my problem. I wish I could have got to the root of it, but sometimes you've got to just start fresh I guess.

Sometimes you have to nuke it from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.

Jeremy,

Yea, the Maxon/RG thing is a bit of a pain. So ... go to the Maxon site, and log a request for help. They don't get back immediately, but do tend to within 24 hours. After I got  the first response, it took a couple more emails over a couple hours to get my RG full suite working in a new Maxon app manager and within my Adobe apps.

Hi Neil,

Thanks for responding.

As I was troubleshooting this problem, I uninstalled premiere and all the Red Giant products.

I reinstalled Premiere and still had the pluraleyes extension in the dropdown.
I just finished reinstalling all the Red Giant apps I have, and I'm having the same problem.

As I said, contact Maxon support, ask for their assistance.

Hello,

Extensions needed to be updated themselves from time to time so first check and see if there are updates to any of the extensions or plugins you regularly use. I have heard of other issues with Maxon and them dragging their feet in regards to keeping Red Giant plugins up to date with the latest Adobe software (been a a bit of a mess since that company acquired RG).

For full control over extensions (including deletion) I recommend downloading Extensions Manager:

Thanks for the reply John!

I have downloaded the extensions manager and there are no extensions listed.
It does seem to be a Red Giant/Maxon problem as those are the ones that won't leave the extensions list.

I'll try and update them again and see if that fixes anything.
