Question

Extremely slow work with timeline

In the new version of Premiere Pro, working with the timeline is practically impossible. During playback, the playhead is delayed compared to the real position (picture in the attachment), playback and pausing correspond with a large delay, the animation of the timeline scrolling is endless and terribly slow.

I turned off all programs in the background, I use the current version of PP 24.5.0, I use the latest drivers, Windows 11, Dell XPS 15 9570.. Damn, how is this possible, because the program cannot be used!

Do you have any tips to fix this problem?

thank you very much

I've noticed this issue could disappear if the "selection follows playhead" is disabled. It's under the Sequence menu.

Hi there,

I'm sorry to hear about this. Please go to Edit > Preferences > Audio Hardware and set the Default Input to None and Default Output to your default speakers. Also, try switching to a default workspace (Window > Workspaces). If you have any third-party plugins installed, please disable them temporarily (https://adobe.ly/3xRc2G7). If you're still experiencing issues after following these steps, please share your source file properties (Project Panel > Right-click on file > Properties), effects used in the project, and preview file format (Sequence > Sequence Settings).

Thanks,

Ishan

Roll back to 24.2.1
It will fix everything.
