FCP7 keyboard shortcut to Premier pro24 Windows version

New Here ,
Oct 15, 2025 Oct 15, 2025

I have recently shifted from FCP 7 to Premier Pro 24 and that too from Mac to Windows.

Now, I have found a .Kys file to use the fcp7 shortcuts into premier. But perhaps that .kys file was mac only. Not working in my Windows version.

Can Somebody provide me with a link to download  a .kys file, so that I can use FCP7 shortcuts in Premier 24 Windows version.

Edit > Keyboard Shortcuts and choose the Final Cut Pro 7.0 is all you have to do. No need to download anything.

Thanks for the help.

But I have already tried that. That setting is a 25-30% match.

  1. One of friend edit with Premier pro 24 mac version, he used a "FCP7 advanced.kys" file to use the FCP7 shortcuts,  that is almost 80% match. He downloaded that from net.

He mailed me that file but that is not working as his platform is Mac and mine is Windows.

AFAIK .kys files from Mac should work on Win and vice versa. Some minor changes due to different keyboards maybe, but it was some time i compared though.

Did you drop the file in this folder on your computer: C:\Users\UserName\Documents\Adobe\Premiere Pro\25.0\Profile-UserName\Win if you use Pr 25 or C:\Users\UserName\Documents\Adobe\Premiere Pro\24.0\Profile-UserName\Win if you use Pr 24.

If you drop the .kys file there Premiere Pro should find it in the Keyboard Shortcuts dialog. (Ctrl+Alt+K)

Mac and Windows use a different .kys format.

You can convert one to the other for free here: https://knightsoftheeditingtable.com/convert-kys-file
