MP4 is a wrapper, what is inside YOUR wrapper - Exactly what is INSIDE the video you are editing?
Report back with the codec details of your file, use the program below

you might also tell us how you acquired these files?  Not sure if it's possible to embed digital rights management in mp4 files, but if so, that might be the problem.

unfortunately iphone videos are somewhat problematic for a couple of reasons.  First that don't shoot at a constant frame rate which can cause issues and second, the codec is something called hevc and I have a feeling you have an older system that's not compatible with hevc.   Use Handbrake to convert the files to a constant frame rate and with a premiere friendly format.

I tried different combinations of encoding and it does not work still. Could you tell me what video preset use, constant or peak framerate and any other configuration I may need. Thank you for your time.
